Quakers hill where is
The other concern is that water treatment sewerage plant, sometimes depending on the winds can be quiet unpleasant! However if you do have kids I would strongly recommend driving through late at night and make your mind up then, they could be your kids in the future! Been living here for 2 years. You have major shopping centers like Stanhope, rouse hills within 2 kms. You get value for your money when compared to the neighboring suburbs like Ponds, Schofields.
You still can buy houses less than 1M. Have very good neighbors with a mix of ethnicities. Great for raising kids. Crime rate is ok comparing to blacktown. Mainly break and enter and some times annoying youth coming from blacktown by train. Saw only 2 break and enter and assault for last 2 years. Its always the street you live is important. My neighbors are great and friendly. Do your research. Property price doubled last 6 years.
Close to M7. Big suburb. Its been 1 year now and loving this suburb. Lot of parks, schools, hills buses, fast trains to city in peak hours. This suburb prices are going up due to the neighboring suburbs like ponds and schofields booming. Be quick if you want to buy a nice home here as the price for a 3 bedder have already gone above k mark.
Good balance of noise, but mostly quiet, great to raise family and kids, lots of parks , recreation and several open sport fields and paths for walking cycling etc, great for living life. We have lived in Quakers hill for 3 years, Our first house in Sydney and it has been good. There is a long commute to the city but rent is cheap. We are moving to get out of Blacktown Council, leaves a lot to be desired Quakers Hill is a nice affordable suburb and a great place to raise a family.
I've lived here for 3 years and I like it. There are a lot of takeaway options but it's true that you'll probably have to drive to get them. It's not a very walkable suburb. The suburb is divided into two, with the parkway as the divider. The north side is much nicer and pricier than the south side but is also safer. There are sports fields and parks, and I regularly jog around the streets in the evening. Transport is getting better and it takes less than an hour to get into the city - about 51 minutes.
The upside is that the trains are very reliable and in 3 years I can count on one hand the number of late trains I've had. There's schools and heaps of daycare centres, especially near the station. The suburb is best for families rather than singles, in my opinion. It's not that friendly of a suburb. People usually cross the road rather than walk past you, and not too many people respond when I say hello, but this is probably an individual thing.
There's also a cultural element of conflict, with most families being either Indian or white Australian, and there's not much mixing going on. I've been pushed off the footpath several times by elderly Indian men who think they have more of a right to the foothpath than a woman does, but again, that's probably an individual thing.
The suburb's reputation for crime is more due to being part of the Blacktown Council area. I take the train to the city every day and have never had a problem.
However I definitely don't travel or walk home at night. There are often young people wandering around at night and the houses near the train station have trouble keeping nice gardens because the youths destroy them, though this is also due to the high school kids.
I'm a 23 year old and have recently moved from Castle Hill to Quakers Hill and the difference is staggeringly high. I moved into a quiet off street townhouse block but was shocked at how rude and polite the local neighbors were. I would always smile and greet people walking in from the street but never get more then an annoyed dull sound back. The local crime is quite high and seems to be lots of youth wandering the streets late at night. Graffiti and rubbish dumped are some of the common things to be seen through the streets on a daily basis.
The public transport is the next thing I am extremely annoyed about, It takes over an hour to get into the city! Having seen the European train system this commute time is laughable for the distance traveled.
The bus system is even worse as there have been times when It has taken me 45 minutes to get to Norwest. Shopping is average in the area with a local IGA not too far away but for your decent shop you might try Standhope Gardens or Rouse Hill. The Chicken farm is very annoying when the smell drifts to our place in the wind, I am really confused as to why the farm hasn't closed or relocated yet.
I do like the M7 being extremely close which has a lovely bike track to ride on when the time occurs. Unfortunately Quakers Hill Parkway is missing an on-ramp to travel Westbound on the M7 which means you need to d-tour through the dangers of Mt Druitt or back track onto sunnyholt road which is chaotic during peak hour.
All in all I can't wait to leave the area but I can see potential once the Council gets its act together. Hi Nicola, thanks for your reply. I would call any place that has very frequent muggings, robberies, shootings, carjackings, domestic violence and murders dangerous.
I could have a totally different perspective of danger to you however? Clearly you don't have contacts at the local police station. Perhaps you should spend more time getting to know a place before posting a comment like the one above. I find your comparison of the crime rate in Quakers Hill to Castle Hill totally invalid and unjustified. Just to elaborate further on my comments regarding the crime, I have only now just moved back to Castle Hill due to a number of incidents from abusive neighbors and muggings near the train station.
My housemate was robbed twice on his way home from the station. I was also chased while dodging rocks on my bike riding to the shops on one occasion. I felt my analysis to be quite accurate and would hope it has contributed to help people not make the same mistake I did moving to this place. I do accept that I moved into a bad area of Quakers Hill as there does seems to be nicer locations such as Acacia Gardens and along Hambledon Road. I would give Quakers Hill another years before things improve when the Government housing has been sold off and higher rental premiums rid the bad eggs in the area.
Hopefully the chicken farm will have packed up and left by then as well. Well why don't you move back to Castle Hill? Pathetic analysis by you!!! MK, thanks for joining the conversation. I personally feel that I have analysed the suburb rather detailed and accurate and believe I have made a strong contribution to this website Something you have not done in helping people with their decision to not move to Quakers hill.
If you read the conversation over, I stated in my response above that I have now moved back to Castle Hill and let me tell you the grass is much greener over here. I won't ever be returning to the troublesome Quakers Hill any time soon. All the best to you. I believe Hills comment may be a little bias due to her personal experience and i hope its not a generalization of the whole suburb, but the reply comments also represent the people that live in the area.
If the reply comments are aggressive, or rude.. Add a comment I am sorry you feel this way Hills Bills.. I have been selling houses in the area for over 30 years and I did live in Quakers Hill for about 8 years so I think I get a good gauge on the area.. The truth is the area is rated a medium to high risk for insurance however there is no more muggings or break ins then say Castle Hill and the graffiti is minimal these days thanks to council etc You seem to have a very biased opinion regarding muggings, car theft etc and I find this to be exaggerated from your part.
The chicken farm is going subdivision. Can you tell me how many murders have happened in Quakers Hill in the last 3 years with the exception of the well publicised nursing home incident????? Moving on.. The area is neat and tidy , has a great community with down to earth people in it.
It is affordable compared to a lot of areas and people move here because it caters well to people buying their first home, to families ,couples etc It also has a good cultural mix which I appreciate with no one nationality dominating. The train takes approx. Driving via M7 and M2 as well as alternate routes I am happy to visit the city but wouldn't want to live there ,alright if you have a push bike.. Come and see for your self , meet the locals I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.. Is there any housing commission houses around quakers hill parkway and pacific road in quakers hill?
People does seems to be defending white wall when it's painted black. I am thinking to move to this area, got kid to raise, my first concern is, how safe the area is? I am very biased to Blacktown, and seems to be my train will be travelling from this area. Very confused about Quakers Hills at this point. As for the comment from a real estate agent, this is shameful.
Homely should ban real estate agents from commenting on their site altogether as their comments are self-interested. Readers are here to get genuine experiences and perceptions from everyday regular people living in those areas, and not comments from real estate agents looking to line their own pockets.
As for the comment neighbours are what you make of them Are you really trying to tell me that if a person moves next door to a drug dealer or an inconsiderate bogan, that it is all just what you make of it?? Most people from Quakers Hill identified as Catholic in Map Hotels Places.
