Should i end plugin container.exe
Thanks much for the post…. Only thing I can imagine any better would be to have an extension that allows you to toggle these five settings. Freezefox is a massive drain on resources. You only have to look at your processes to see its huge footprint. Take away the add-ons, and Freezefox is finished as a browser.
And, despite the obvious evidence, they still insist that the cursed plug-in container is not a memory hog. Even a Google search will bring up the many problems people have with the dreaded plug-in container, But, of course, according to Mozilla everyone else is wrong. This solution no longer works in Firefox With plugin container disabled, most of the sound and video files on the web with the exception of Youtube can no longer play using Firefox. With plugin container enabled, the system slows to a stop because of excess use of resources.
Either way, I hate to do it, but I am more and more abandoning Firefox for Chrome, which has its own problems like forcing 6 or 8 Chrome processes at once, all eating up resources. Going back to Flash It is Adobe changing things not mozilla! I cannot open about:config no response, Firefox Firefox keeps crashing, have tried disabling addons, disabling hardware acceleration, starting in safe mode, refreshing Firefox, have done everything, but nothing changes.
Let me know if the problem persists then. I get a long list of items and no one of the 5 you show is listed. I'm really fed-up with Firefox that they would add such a trublesome feature and then not allow it to be disabled when it is so obviously causing problems. I guess my only alternative is to return to IE in spite of it's obvious security problems. At least I can web surf without my computer hanging-up or going slow.
The only solution that I have found is to allow all scripts to be written on every opened page which negates the job of my NoScript Add-On. Otherwise maybe it is better to use IE if you need to use FlashPlayer. The plugincontainer may be disabled, but that is not recommended, because it may make matters worse. FlashPlayer is no longer tested and designed to run outside the plugin container.
Disabling the plugincontainer may well result in Firefox itself becoming crashy. However, after following the instructions you supplied in "about:config" - By resetting the value to "true" then opening various sites that were causing the "plugin-container.
Next, I re-set the value back to "false" as recommended and still didn't have the problems. My questions now are: Could there have been something "hanging-up" and causing the "plugin-container. I guess I'll log-off and re-start after sending this. Note the suggestions about using safe mode or disabling plugins are intended as troubleshooting steps. Certain combinations of addons and addon settings may sometimes cause issues with Firefox use. Firefox is highly customisable.
That is a great but also means it may be difficult to get to the bottom of some problems. I am assuming by the way that the plugincontainer instances you see are usually in relation to FlashPlayer. I hope you were able to learn more about the plugin-container. Also, share this article on social media if you found it helpful. He has 5 years of experience in creating websites and writing content. It is driving me insane :. Sandy Official Reply on 11th Apr, 12 pm. Or you experienced the high CPU usage after some browsing?
Setting the value FALSE simply prevents plugin-container process from running and all your browser plugins should work normally within FF.
If one of your plugin has a problem or needs update you may experience slowness or high CPU usage. Continuous browsing for a longer period without closing or restarting your browser window may also show high CPU usage. So, I suggest that you check your plugins go to add-ons and select plugins first and update them if needed.
You may also disable unwanted plugins. Then try once again. Robert Glennie on 21st May, 12 am. I would be interested in getting rid of plugin-container. Sandy Official Reply on 23rd May, 12 am. The preference dom.

Sandy Official Reply on 22nd Dec, 12 pm. I do agree with you second paragraph.
What we need is a browser, not a software suite stuffed with fancy things. Being a Firefox user since , it is very hard for me to switch. It is giving far better performance than any newer version up to Firefox 20 , at least for me.
Are you sure dom. Juan on 24th Apr, 13 am. Is it maybe possible for you to share a link or anything so i can test it out? Em on 29th Jan, 13 am. Hi there. Ive recently been experiencing some system crashes and at first i though it was my GPU that is starting to die similar crashes occurred with my previous GPU just before it died. Now how i came to the conclusion that it was firefox, is that i came across some kind of background version of firefox starting automatically and multiplying somehow.
There are some other processes that runs in the background, but after i close the firefox apps, the others closes automatically. Now my question is, if i do this which is showed above, will it help me out at all?
Sandy Official Reply on 24th Apr, 13 pm. Thanks for your comments. Because of spamming problem, comments are being moderated. Sorry for delay in approval. You need to set value of dom. You asked about my older version of Firefox. It is Firefox 3. Memory usage is just MB and no plugin-container. There may be some security risks, if the user computer is not properly protected. Also no new features or functions. For example sync, developer tools etc. If you are interested, you can get that from official Mozilla website.
Then you can disable unwanted features. Juan on 24th Apr, 13 pm. Thanks for the feedback. Only thing I know is that in my Task Manager it shows that multiple features of firefox is running, and if I end process them, my fps sets back to normal. As soon as it happens again I will upload a screen of it. Also I have a hunch that it may be some kind of worm or something…I am not certain about this though. Hi Juan, I think it is not Firefox which is causing trouble. Anyway, first do a scan for malware and rootkits with MalwareBytes or other tools.
If your computer is clean, run Firefox without any add-ons. I think multiple firefox problem will disappear. Memory dump error may occur due to several reasons — memory fault overheating etc. Did you tried to view the logs? I means even viewer in Administrative tools. Rajesh Chandra on 19th Jul, 14 pm.
